Cycle China’s Educational Programs are designed to give students and families an interactive educational experience in China that combines physical exercise, interactions with locals, and a deeper understanding of Chinese history and culture. Our mission is to inspire, educate, and motivate!
All of our educational tours are designed by senior guides, including Jeff Gao – founder of Cycle China – in collaboration with Jennifer Thomé, our Director of Development. Jennifer is a German-American who has been in China for more than ten years and holds a Master’s degree in Chinese Culture, History, and Language, and ensures that all of our educational programs strike the right balance between physical exercise, educational value, and fun!
And how could we be dedicated to the students without being dedicated to the planet? We love the great outdoors, and that is why we donate 8% of all student tours to Roots & Shoots, an initiative of the Jane Goodall Institute that teaches our children how to live in harmony with the planet. Upon special request, we can even send a representative of the JGI institute to travel with your student groups so that they can learn more about creating a greener tomorrow.
We currently offer the following educational tours:
- Nomadic Culture in Inner Mongolia
- Traditional Skills, Organic Tea and Monkeys in Huangshan
- Chinese History and Global Influences in Fujian
- Outdoor Adventure and Teambuilding in Yangshuo
- Ethnic Minority Groups in China’s South
- Healthy Chinese Cooking and Organic Farming in Beijing
- NGO Volunteer Opportunities throughout China
Safety comes first on our educational tours, and we guarantee that all equipment has been tested by our staff for safety, and we can also ensure that all vehicles used on the trip provide seat belts (a rarity in China!). If your students have any special medical, nutritional, or psychological needs, we can also cater to those. Just let us know during the planning phase.
