Immerse yourself in Chinese history with this one-of-a-kind tour through Xi’an. Explore China’s most famous site – the Terra Cotta Warriors – and then set out to conquer the 3,999 steps that lead to the top of China’s sacred Huashan Mountain. Stop for a bird’s-eye-view bike ride on the ancient city wall, a trip to the Wild Goose Pagoda,and a plethora of Xi’an snacks in the old Muslim Quarters along the way. You’ll also have a chance to visit numerous other sites and museums.
Start your journey by taking an overnight sleeper train to Xi’an, where you’ll be picked up and whisked away to visit the Terra Cotta Warriors, the collection of more than 7,000 stone warriors built more than 2,000 years ago to protect the tomb of the Emperor Qin Shihuang in the afterlife.
After a delightful local meal, you’ll visit the Banpo Museum, which houses a trove of Neolithic treasures before visiting the Wild Goose Pagoda and heading to the old Muslim Quarters, an area renown for its local Xi’an snack foods.
The next morning you’ll visit Mount Huashan, located 2,200 meters above sea level, to view it’s breath-taking cliffs. You’ll start the adventure by taking a cable car to the north peak, and then start climbing along the winding paths to the awe-inspiring precipices. Luckily the amazing view will be enough to distract you from the 3,999 steps you need to conquer to get to the top. Along the way you’ll see a number of Buddhist and Taoist Temples.
After taking the cable car back down, you’ll relax over a delicious provincial meal before heading for a good foot and leg massive to help you recuperate
On your last day in the city, you’ll wake up early to cycle on the old city wall, and then pay a visit to the Xi’an City Museum to learn more about Xi’an’s history, before heading back to Beijing.
